Emergency Management Division to Conduct Annual Test of the Alert And Warning System Sirens PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (October 20, 2008)-The Calvert County Emergency Management Division will conduct a full cycle test of the alert and warning sirens throughout southern Calvert and St. Mary's Counties on Monday, November 3, 2008, at 12:00 noon. The siren test will consist of a full three minute activation. All citizens are asked to remember the scheduled testing and relay the information to friends, family and neighbors. NEW! Beginning in 2009, the full cycle three minute test will be conducted the first Monday of each calendar quarter (January, April, July, and October). The change in the test schedule is to enhance siren operation and increase public awareness of the Alert and Notification Siren system. If at any other time you hear the sirens sounding, you should tune to one of the local radio stations listed below for information and instructions.
